I began painting in 1979. Though predominantly self taught, I have studied under many accomplished artists. Weimar, Texas has been my lifelong home. Growing up on a dairy farm in rural America gave me an appreciation for my favorite subject - the rural landscape. I find nothing more exhilarating that painting in "Plein Aire" - capturing the fleeting light effects that occur in nature, so as to allow you - when viewing my works - to feel as if you are actually in the scene. I choose to work in an impressionistic style that is spontaneous and exhilarating. Most of my paintings are done with palette knife, although at times I do go back to the brush.
