Catherine Laporte is an award-winning illustrator and Art Director originally from Montreal. After stints with Sid Lee’s Montréal and Paris offices, she settled in Amsterdam, where she now lives and works as a Senior Art Director. With an adaptable, multidisciplinary approach, Catherine has worked on international accounts including adidas, Red Bull, Cirque de Soleil, Kronenbourg 1664 and Fatboy.
Throughout her career, Catherine has won numerous awards. These include a Gold and a Silver Cannes Lion, a Silver Pencil from the One Show Design Awards, a Type Directors Club Award, as well as numerous Grafika and Lux awards. As an independent artist, Catherine has had her work published in various magazines including Étapes and Applied Arts Magazine.
Dividing her time between illustration and art direction, working both physically and digitally, Catherine is constantly seeking to find new ways to create visually strong images.
Her artwork has been exhibited in Argentina, Canada, France, The Netherlands, and the UK.
Catherine Laporte’s process is driven by spontaneity and intuition. She believes that everything you need is already within. Her artwork translates complex thoughts and emotions onto paper while giving them life in a simple, playful, innocent, yet intense way, always striving to discover beauty in the natural honesty of her subjects.
