CES / D (Carl E. Smith Design) is a multi-disciplinary design operation specializing in Graphic & Interactive Design, Brand Identity, Art Direction & Production.

I am an artist and designer based in Laguna Beach, California and Prague, Czech Republic. I have worked professionally in and around of the action sports industry since 1995. I joined the team at Electric Visual in 2004 and acted as the head art director and subsequently as the creative director from 2009-2010. I started CES/D in the summer of 2010 with a mission of pursuing custom design projects with current and existing clients. I believe in function, form and a clean aesthetic.

Carl E. Smith Fine Art (CES/FA) is an exclusive artistic organization with various major intentions:

CES/FA aspires to join forces with artists and propel them and their work into the public eye. We support a format that encourages the advancement of young / non-established and emerging international artists in the contemporary art world. We promote a collective atmosphere in which creative individuals can sync and collaborate towards a common goal.

MAJOR FUNCTIONS:

1. To accelerate the careers, endeavors, and visions of a select group of visual artists and to introduce and connect collectors, designers and galleries with their work. CES/FA will offer dynamic environments for both parties to develop understanding and seeks to create intimate levels of interaction through traditional and non-traditional exhibition programming and private events.
2. To unite a group of like-minded creative individuals with the intention of introducing new content and imagery to the general public and private sectors. Artist presented with CES/FA are friends, collaborators and professionals in the international creative community.

3. Other functions of CES/FA include design, consulting, curating and collecting. We offer these services to galleries, businesses, and private parties.
