I was born in the island of Menorca in 1978 and I´m fully devoted to paint since I was 21.


I´m Currently working with art galleries in Spain, France, United Kingdom and United States.


I studied Fine Arts in Barcelona, where I got my BFA degree, but I really learned to paint studying the classics.


I suspect that I´m too contemporary to be disappointed in the Avant- garde of Babel and I feel free 
representing the human figure, redeeming the values of classical art from a contemporary perspective. My art is organic and changing, I am always open to change and I´m influenced for everything that moves me.

I look in the paint all that surrounds the aura of the classics, the commitment of the timeless that nourishes the bodies of a vigorous momentum. A painting tender and yet disturbing, evocative, lively, with body, restraint and elegance. Read Less

Carles Gomila seeks to paint works that are tender and yet disturbing, evocative full bodied and elegant. He loves painting the human figure based on the real human anatomy plus his own imagination and feels free to represent the human figure and redeem the values of classical art from a contemporary perspective.

Gomila was born in Ciutadella de Menorca in 1978. The glowing Mediterranean light of the island suffuses each of his works. Gomila’s magical surrealism places him at the forefront of living European surrealists. At the moment he makes paintings and drawings of compositions of figures, as much of the natural world as from his imagination, working with great variety of subjects, from the smallest to the monumental.
