The Black Dahlia: before & after

I am interested in rather dark subject matter. I like to tell stories through art. Most of my subject matter is true- saints, Borden murders, serial poisoners,... I try to find a different way of viewing these subjects. Humor is what I turn to most, but also pattern & texture to minimize some of the horror.

Ready-To-Wear Show

I started sewing when I was a little girl. I have always made clothing for myself but have recently started designing clothing for other people. I have incorporated my screen printing (I have a line of tee shirts) into my dress making.

Jim Jones

Real life is where all the best stories come from. I remember being a child and seeing the images of the Jonestown mass 'suicide' on the news with my family. How utterly disturbing that so many people could be led down the garden path- most willingly. As an adult, I still found myself fascinated by these types of subjects. Where does good intent end and madness begin? How do you separate those with true divine vision and those who use religion to manipulate people and gain power?

I'll get you and your little dog

Tammy Faye's death was hard on many of us. I loved the documentary, "The Eyes of Tammy Faye"! I wanted to do a tribute to her that would have her zest for life and fun and still touch on some of the events of her life.
