I am a professional calligrapher and letter artist based in Cape Town, South Africa. I've been into writing/lettering since childhood. I started freelancing while reading for a degree in philosophy at the University of Cape Town and got side-tracked. That was about 20 years ago. I do most of my work for other designers and agencies.

The beach calligraphy is an original technique for carving letters in the sand which I have developed. You're looking at the world's first beach calligrapher!

Most of the images taken before July 2009 were with a Nikon D80 and a Sigma 10-20mm lens. After that I upgraded to a professional camera: a Nikon D700 and a Nikkor 14-24mm G lens. Any new commissions will be photographed with this equipment.
