Hi, I’m Vika.
I’m an artist and illustrator currently based in Moscow, Russia.
I like to work in different styles – it makes my life more interesting.
In decoration I love when an ordinary thing becomes a unique one, when materials themselves suggest you a solution how to realize the idea.
Photography fascinates me by a miracle that happens to objects due to the physics of light.
In illustration the most essential thing for me is expression.
Milestones of my education and professional life:
1990-1992 – School of Art, city of Omsk
1993-1997 – Institute of Technology (Institute of Service now), city of Omsk
1998 – moved from Omsk to Novosibirsk. Worked as a designer, decorator, designer in a framing studio and illustrator. Painted portraits and interior graphics on paper, silk, cardboard and walls. Favorite materials: acryl, watercolors, charcoal, plaster, artificial gold leaf and other materials of the same kind. Created the pseudonym Yana Bender, which I sometimes use for signing my works.
2005 – moved to Moscow. Continue working as a designer, decorating interiors and painting.
