I am a Front End Developer at Burnside Digital in Portland, OR. Graphic Design has always been interesting to me, starting with skateboard graphics by World Industries and Alien Workshop. Fashion photography and later album art were extensions of my interest in design work and architecture.
While living in San Francisco, CA, pursuing skateboarding as a profession I began to work for a rock n' roll clothier making body jewelry and later using sublimation heat transfers to make unique shirts. When I returned to Seattle, WA I worked for another company designing shirts and later started Slingshot Industries in Portland, OR. Starting a small t-shirt company allowed me to combine all my interests designing fliers, setting up and directing photo shoots, taking and editing photos and printing shirts.
Photoshop and Illustrator were my primary tools for creating shirts and later I took my interest in those programs and made the decision to focus on web design. Flash Professional and ActionScript 3.0 were my main area of study, but as the tides of technology shifted I took up HTML5, CSS3 and jQuery. Those are the tools that I use today, {less}, semantic.gs, web typography and some server side languages are all areas that I continuing to study and adding to my tool kit on a daily basis.
