Andrew is a user experience designer by trade with a concentration in interaction design and user interface, with over 10 years in UX/IxD/UI/IA, 11 years leading multidisciplinary teams, and 12 years in all areas of internet development, building upon a background equally weighted in creative and technical, startup and Fortune 500.

Formally trained in computer science and music, his work explores the interconnected and evolving patterns of communication within networks —focusing on identity, co-creation, and feedback— and includes music composition/performance, sound/data driven art, to digital products and strategy.

Andrew started as a systems engineer for NASA, and has since held senior creative/technologist/strategist hybrid roles at R/GA, frog design, Dotglu, and Accenture, where he crafted digital brand strategy, technical/information architecture, and user experiences/interfaces for global brands including Nike, BMW, Barnes & Noble, Chanel, L'Oréal Paris, and Pernod Ricard. His work has been widely awarded in the industry, featured by brands including Apple, and exhibited in arts organizations including the Istanbul Contemporary Art Museum.

In October of 2010, Andrew founded Collective Assembly, an independent design studio, with Virgilio Santos and Manuel Dilone. The studio practices total design for public benefit, supporting and propagating open source hardware, software, and ideas, for local communities, the arts, non-commercial, and commercial alike. In mid 2011 and early 2012 respectively, Claudia Reyes and Claudia Bernett joined the studio, completing the group.

While building Collective Assembly as a Managing Principal, Andrew continues to work with other entrepreneurs, design studios, global brands, and agencies as an independent designer on projects with similar goals.
