Albert Pérez Mayolas completed his degree in Architecture at Barcelona's UPC University in October 2010.
He studied at Edinburgh College of Art on the Erasmus Programme, from September 2005 to August 2006. He undertook Design Studio Projects with Brian Edwards and took several classes on sustainability. He designed various transportation projects including a bus station, a ferry port and an airport.
The following year, Albert Pérez Mayolas was awarded with a Spanish scholarship called Séneca to study at another Spanish University for one year. He chose Madrid’s ETSAM University where he studied from September 2007 to June 2008. He designed a Thermal Resort in Donosti with Antonio Juárez and Juan Carlos Sancho. Whilst studying, he worked part-time in Estudio FAM. He assisted on several national and international architecture competitions and undertook the Final Plan Set for a Youth Arts Center in León.
He returned to Barcelona to focus on his final project. He designed a Sports Center in Madrid and submitted it to the tribunal Examiner of Lluís Moya, Mamen Domingo and Estanislao Roca. Whilst studying he worked part time for Lagula Arquitectes. He has worked for them for three years and has assisted on several national and international architecture competitions and completed Final Plan Sets.
In September 2011, he got a Leonardo Scholarship to work in a different European country. He moved to Switzerland where he has been working in various architecture competitions assisting Manuel Herz Architekten and later on Rahbaran Hürzeler Architekten.
He thinks sustainability and building restoration, as well as new technologies, IT, and programming will become increasingly relevant in the future and he hopes to contribute greatly to all the projects he is involved in. Read Less
