My name is Christopher William Adach and I am Designer. But, please let me introduce my profession before I introduce you myself.
Short story about Design.
The Creation is a natural act, but also it is act of a Nature. The creation is a force, progress and the consequence, it’s endless and ambiguous. From the first beginning, the Nature was a master for themselves in cosmological sense and here on the Earth. The Earth is a home for many living structures for millions of years, which appear, extinct but first of all evolved, constantly changing themselves by the force of the Nature. But one day, something extraordinary happened, the Nature created US, the people, with abilities to create on a consciousness level, with abilities to design our own world. Design occurred with first primitive tools, which man created like stone choppers or hand axes. But it was just a beginning. Except tools or material objects, the most important, we started design ideas; the ideas, which gave us new possibilities for living and cultures development, such us first agricultural revolution, for example, when we settled down, started first food-producing methods, domesticate plants and animals and above all create first human societies growing up first in villages, towns and then in metropolises.
Design is present on each level our lives, actually create them. Design ‘creates’ human environment, improves living standards but also gives us aesthetic solutions. It is a force which can create material objects, can change our behaviours and definitely can tell us a story about ourselves on a time axis. Today in modern, advance world as never before design is strongly connected to the common people, who need ideas and products extremely simple but highly efficient and sophisticated.
Short story about myself.
I was born on the beginning of the 70’s in one of the central European country, which wasn’t centre of the Europe at all. As many polish families that time we were living in small apartments in which aesthetics wasn’t issue and lack of space was present everywhere. Growing up in environment like this, gave me first opportunities for observation relationship between us and space, how particular materials affect us and what actually the space is and how to deal with it. But, in my formative years, there was another place, my grandpa’s endless library, where I discovered another world, world of nature, history, extraordinary cultures, odd ideas and magic of the science. Both places were rich sources of experience for me when curiosity of the world was accompanied by over sensitivity. In later years I was experimenting with the world on different levels, looking for perception based on relativity and connections between us and natural world.
I amazed by the place where we are today as a people, but also aware by a distance between us and natural world. I adore advance technologies and modern materials, us much as ways of living which gives as civilisation but at the same time I try to find the best balance between all of this things and natural order which create us. As designer I love natural materials as wood or natural fibres, but also man produced modern materials as contemporary glass, advance plastics like polymers or resins and nanofibres. All materials give us different solutions and appearances, but using each of them we need consider in sustainable terms to make sure its green nature from stage of production to recycling.
I do not want call myself ‘the artist’, despite that honest design could be piece of art, I do not want call myself ‘creator’, because most of us are creators at last for themselves but I definitely want to design something which could bring you some happiness and touch ability for common house objects and the best home experience itself.
