It was already as a child when the boundless possibilities of Photography began to fascinate me. In succeeding years I taught myself a photographic method involving in situ multiple exposures on film which became my signature technique and salient feature of all my work to date. I memorize my motifs down to the last detail before superimposing them, one on the other, on film, to compose complex imagery in intensely vibrant colors. With a restrained use of subsequent digital processing, the line between Photography and Painting is blurred, presenting the commonplace in novel settings and in an entirely new light.
By means of my photo sequences, I earnestly address basic social issues in terms of novel and unique imagery. For me, it is a matter of deep personal commitment to make a difference by polarising opinion and inviting liberating debate to encourage the beholder to review his own position.
Of course it is easy to simply decry social ills from a position of alleged moral superiority. It is my deep personal conviction that each and every one of us should do his part and take action in making the world a better place and to aid the underprivileged. This is why I have been placing my artistic endeavors in the service of charitable organizations for a number of years now.
