Wes Phelan is one of South Africa’s creative evangalists. His provocative ideas, innovative talent and passion for story-telling have seen him quickly rise to be one of the youngest Creative Director’s in the local industry. After cutting his teeth at The AAA School of Advertising, he gained valuable experience working at The Jupiter Drawing Room on brands such as Discovery Health, Wealth,Nedbank,PPC and the Reckitt Benkieser account. .

When the opportunity came to join “the new kid on the block,” MetropolitanRepublic, he relished the challenge to help build a forward thinking internationally recognised agency. This vision was quickly realised as he worked on award winning break-through campaigns for MTN, Wimpy, Vuzu TV,SAB and FNB developing skills in all media, while pioneering viral and interactive channels.
Although Wesley has won a number of local and international accolades, he is committed to” winning hearts, rather than awards,” always striving to connect the audience with the brand in a unique and memorable way. He is constantly exploring around the fringes of pop culture, understanding the modern world of advertising and redefining the way a brand communicates with the customer. With a number of finalist’s in this year’s local and international awards, including the much loved Wimpy Braille commercial, the industry can’t wait to see what he does next! Read Less
