Art Director for brand new creative homecraft magazine, Homemaker, which focuses on bringing creativity into the home. It's a top-quality lifestyle product full of lovely photography and also is banded with a free source book publication containing patterns/art/motifs that you can cut out and keep, and templates to assist you in any of the projects included in the main magazine.
Homemaker is all about sewing, thrifting, making, baking, decorating, and enjoying style; and features 'Homemaker Heroes' such as Wayne Hemingway, Sophie Conran, Eric Lanlard, Anthea Turner, Kirstie Allsopp, Orla Kiely, Rachel Allen to name just a few, and showcases designers and generally rather clever, creative people. There are projects to try and it's packed with interesting information, facts, tips, and shopping advice/info. The Launch issue went down a storm and Issue 2 goes to press this week. Should be out on the shelves at all the major supermarkets and WHSmith on 14th December.
I art directed and designed its entirely look from the selection of typography down to the detailed building of graphics from scratch. It has been a fantastic project to work on, with a great team of people.

I have worked in the design studio at Aceville for over six years working on both consumer titles and B2Bs. I have worked on about 20 different magazine titles over the duration of my employment, but the main ones include: Great British Food Magazine, Let's Knit, Sew, and a B2B - Speciality Food Magazine (which i headed up for three years) . I also designed a website, Busymitts, which is a social network website for the online crafting community.
In addition to this I have been a regular contributor to Sew Magazine with a "vicky's Studio" section aiming ay enouraging people to have a go at customising, altering clothing and making simple clothes without having to use a pattern. On the Sew website I have performed video demonstrations. www.sewmag.co.uk ten select 'video'. The most popular being the 'no-pattern shift dress'. Read Less
