I've done freelance design, development and creative problem-solving work for five years, and 90% of my clients are SMBs who place a premium on contact work ROI. As a result I find myself preoccupied with the business impact of the work I deliver, and this has cultivated my approach to each project. Depending on the client, my job may not in fact be to do what is directly asked of me but rather to consider the bigger picture and the challenges my clients face. The solutions don't always coincide with what is being asked of me, and sometimes that saves my clients budget. Other times, this is simply not necessary and I'm charged with executing late-stage design to enhance a relatively mature product. In any event, I do make a distinction between what I consider my business-oriented approach and "hit and run" work. If you are a prospective client I hope I can put my problem-solving to work for your benefit.
I am interested mostly in bigger projects for two reasons: (1) the stability of contracts whose terms are longer and (2) bigger projects are inherently far more challenging and rewarding. I am simply too interested an individual to be satisfied with hit-and-run work.
My Clients
I have worked with companies of all sizes, from 1-man startups to SMBs with 30 employees, all the way up to multinationals. I have a pragmatic approach to design projects and have worked with everyone from CEOs to software engineers to graphic designers.
