The Curators of Contemporary Craft is a small design studio containing Scott Robertson and Kim Longhurst. We specialise in high end corporate design, illustration, apparel and limited edition decor accoutrement. As our name implies we are dedicated to providing a service whereby we apply meticulous attention to detail, are inventive with our technique, collaborate with people whose work we admire, take calculated risks and make beautiful things with our bare hands. We plan to spread our subversive love of old skool tools throughout the land.

Scott Robertson (a.k.a Dirty Sanchez) combines a love of all things glamorous and filthy (DirtyGlamourotica) with a dedication to the purest principles of design. Scott’s illustrations have appeared in diverse publications ranging from, IdN, One Small Seed and the Design Indaba Magazine to the Leurzers Archive. He has ridden the corporate bus, exhibited amoral canvases, customized shoes and skate decks, been the mysterious figurehead of a street wear label. Always subversive, sometimes scandalous, never soft.

Kim Longhurst believes that craft is next to godliness. She is a mama, designer, illustrator, painter, embroiderer, gardener and a purveyor of all things beautiful (and kitsch). Her work has progressed from a shoe shine poster, the side of a bus, an underground zine, packaging, posters, t-shirts, skate decks, surfboards and book covers to publication in Martin Dawber’s Big Book of Fashion, Leurzers Archive and IdN. Kim has taken part in collaborative exhibitions, has curated an exhibition of seven of Durban’s top illustrators and made a curious little solo show, more cabinet of curiosities than traditional fine art.
