Staple Design is an independent, visual communications agency. Our goal is to undestand the relationships that exists between intriguing companies and their target consumers. Formulating a straight-line channel of communication between the two is what we do best.

Our strength lies in our mere existence. We research the consumer to the point where we actually become the consumer. While most agencies begin the design process with "answers" or "solutions"; we start with "questions". Once we understand your consumer's way of thinking, the creative process begins. We are led by creators; not by trend forecasters, focus groups, or taste makers. After 10-plus years in New York City, we always found ourselves asking, "Why follow the leader? When you can be the leader?" Creation is simple. Creation coupled with conviction and purpose is a translates into a successful company. Success marked not only by dollar signs, but by the authenticity projected to their consumers. Once you grab hold of the ability to speak to your customer, there is nothing your company cannot do. We work in all forms of media including print, online, multimedia, and fashion.

The Staple Clothing collection was founded in 1997. Jeff Ng started it (by accident) at Parsons School of Design on the 4th floor Silkscreen Lab. Shirts were prohibited from being printed on, but that didn't stop Jeff. Night after night, he snuck in with his friend and a pillowcase full of blank tees. It started with a 12 pieces t-shirt order. 12 became 24. 24 became 36. It just kept snowballing. That same snowball exists today. And the independent spirit behind the brand remains the same today.
