Graphic/Web Designer - Goucher College
Baltimore, MD

In this position the majority of work is print-based: logos, brochures, posters, books, business cards, etc. The web work involves creating themes and styles for new additions to the web site and for html e-mail blasts. I have been able to incorporate my photo/video skills by shooting stills of events on campus as well as portraits and documentary-style interview videos of select students.

2011-2012
Multimedia Specialist - M.C. Dean, Inc.
Stuttgart, Germany

As a Multimedia Specialist, I carried out the duties of a photographer, cinematographer, video and sound editor, and motion graphic designer to help produce video and interactive pieces. This multimedia work told the story of the engineering firm's work, helping to create awareness of the company's capabilities and win more contracts.

2003-2005
Graphic Design Intern - Lockheed Martin
Alexandria, VA and Lanham, MD

I worked for three years as a design intern with the Lockheed Martin Corporation
In this position I designed a variety of print media for professional presentation purposes: logos, information graphics, charts, divider tabs, book and cd/dvd covers.
These proposal graphics helped simplify the communication of Lockheed's often technical and verbose proposals for work, and can be credited with helping secure millions of dollars of government defense contracts.

I never chose to be a designer, design chose me. When I was 15, I thought I had received a vocation to attend the Catholic Seminary. During that period, I did a lot of soul searching, asking myself a lot of whys and hows. After conferencing with Father Don and my family, it became clear to me that I was not meant to be a priest. What also became clear is my recognition of my ability to communicate and influence others, my strong will to help others and serve a greater purpose in the world, and my passion for expressing myself creatively. It took a while for me accept the fact that I wasn't going to bring about change and serve others through the priesthood, or (following in my father's footsteps) in the officer ranks of the Army... but through the power of my own creativity. But, I have. I truly embrace design and art as my vocation, and that is where the root of my passion and sense of purpose comes from. Read Less
