I am an enthusiastic, self motivated and award-winning Professional Masters of Architecture student with more than nine years of combined work experience spanning architectural internships and customer service roles.

I persistently maintains an excellent academic performance and continuously give back to my community. Recently, I was on the winning team of the AIA GA Design Charrette, benefiting Habitat for Humanity. And over the past two years, I have served as a Graduate Mentor, Architecture Peer Tutor, as well as the President of the SCAD chapter of the National Honor Society in Architecture and Allied Arts, Tau Sigma Delta.

Beside aesthetics, my design proposals always emphasize sustainable strategies and building performance. My 5 year career goal is to become a Project Architect, and ultimately a Principal in an internationally acknowledged architecture firm, allowing me to serve as many people across the globe, and eventually, leave a legacy of a genuine, innovative, inspiring, and environmentally responsible architecture. There is no greater thrill than creating something unique. When I am creative, I feel unstoppable. Time just seems to become irrelevant, and everything just makes sense. I consistently have the urge to innovate, find new solutions, alternative applications, revisit previous projects, and make connections between rather distant concepts. To me, there are numerous solutions to a single problem, many ways to address, evaluate or create a new idea. I believe in limitless possibilities. I find satisfaction in the process itself; the frustration, anxiety, as well as the ecstasy of an unanticipated inspirational moment.

I believe that architecture is a medium through which we could achieve a healthier, more balanced standard of living that addresses both our physical and spiritual needs. Architecture dramatically influences the way we behave; such a well-designed space aspires us to be happier, more dynamic and prosperous. My goal is to entice users to become emotionally attached to the architecture which they interact with. I aim for an interactive Architecture that engages all of its users’ senses, as well as flexible enough to adapt to their needs and desires throughout the lifetime of the building. My designs must respond to, enhance, preserve, and express the unique qualities of the specific site, region, culture, and history. Read Less

I am convinced that creativity emerges from my exposure to new discoveries, traveling to new places, bumping into new and exciting people. I believe that my success in Architecture depends on my open-mindedness and endless passion to learn about vast subjects.

I find myself most creative in an environment that is on fire with enthusiasm and high energy; one that fosters wild imagination. I find myself most creative when I am surrounded by talented and creative individuals who are eager to achieve the impossible; individuals driven by challenge and not afraid of holding back, or even failing. I believe that the creative potential is maximized wherever there is an effective collaboration; different experts from diverse background bringing different perspectives, values, experiences and skills to the table. When capable individuals are working in harmony, listening to each other, embracing and building or each other’s ideas, and complementing each other’s skills, the sum of their creativity far exceeds the lone isolated brain; or even the combined efforts of the individuals. The group matures and prospers together; everybody wins and comes up with something better than anyone could imagine initially.

When I am working on a project, my creative process is rather circular and recursive. First, I give myself a chance to absorb as much information and related context. I visit the project site and meet the locals, search the internet, read articles, books or watch a documentary, as well as research relevant technologies and resources. I would focus on research to find out multiple different angles that could inspire a solution. I will have a clear definite end goal and a major deadline, but I would stay away from an extremely strict schedule early on in the design process.

After becoming in sync with the context of the project; i.e., the site, culture, history, resources, and case studies, I proceed with prototyping. Capitalizing on my professional level of visualization and virtual modeling skills, I start sketching possible concepts, or solutions, create a simulation model and learn through experience, as I go. My goal is to get as many solutions early on in the process. The more ideas I generate, the more great ideas are worth exploring and developing.

The process shifts back and forth between vast exploration to selection, evaluation and criticism, back to exploring and further elaboration, and again to evaluation and testing; the cycle keeps running. By keeping the ultimate goal in mind, early prototyping, and tackling one aspect of a project at a time, my creative process remains sustainable and innovation is flourishing. Read Less
