My work is contemporary storytelling executed in drawings and paintings and assemblages, depicting inner meditations, conflicts, and conversations.
I think of pure Art as a non-representational entity. However the idea of infusing representational imagery with abstract qualities and pushing the familiar toward an unfamiliar outcome is a major motivation in my creative process. To that end, I produce several distinct seemingly divergent types of work. This dichotomy comes from one place; I suppose that alone is my point. Seeing one within the other is the challenge I offer.
I have yet to discover what it is that pushes my hands across a surface, still, I question my inspirations and in the process I find openings to an elusive answer. Read Less
