Brief project info: New build 100 bed hotel, restaurant, bar and conference facility incorporating new HQ Global Brands Offices.
The 4 star Casa was completed in October 2010, providing high quality accommodation comprising 100 bedrooms, 100-cover a la carte restaurant, bars, conference and wedding facilities as well as the new 20,000sqft headquarters for Client Bradbury Hall Developments and Global Brands Ltd.
The hotel is the first venture for Bradbury Hall Developments, who tasked careyjones with creating a new independent hotel brand to serve Chesterfield and the surrounding Peak District - catering for visitors, local businesses and the community.
Creating a distinctive landmark, the strong, bold scheme design is reflective of the aspirations for the regeneration of the Lockoford Lane area and the city of Chesterfield. The dramatic cantilever design is enhanced through the use of a simple palette of materials which delineate the six floors and their uses – cream ceramic cladding for the hotel floors with zinc for the offices above.
Internally, the scheme reflects the Spanish heritage of the owners (including art works sourced in Spain) and creates a ‘home from home’ for visitors. The lobby, bars, restaurant and function suites also feature dramatic lighting, creating different moods throughout the day.
Off-site construction has been utilised throughout including wall panels, bedroom ‘blocks’ and pre-fabricated bathroom pods to ensure quality control, increase environmental sustainability and reduce construction period.
