Beginning my photography career in the darkroom, most of my photographs are black and white. In using a limited amount of film, I learned how to carefully compose each exposure. Much of my work is portraiture, taken of my friends and family, and sometimes of interesting strangers who I see. My photography depicts a slightly romanticized version of the things in my daily life. I take a camera everywhere I go and am in constant search of compelling composition.
I enjoy finding interesting things to photograph, however, I do not find them as often as I would like. As I continue to invest more of my time in photography, I have begun to have trouble finding enough things to photograph in my daily life. I have recently started creating my own photographic scenes, thinking of ideas and planning them out ahead of time. While these scenes are different from my previous work, they retain a similar sense of nostalgia and being in the moment. Read Less
