Pamela Graham is a Bristol-based artist, however she hails from Johannesburg, South Africa. She studied interdisciplinary design in Bristol, exhibiting at New Designers, 2009 along with her course-mates, where they were awarded the best stand in show. Since then she has established a studio in Hamilton House a creative hub in the Stokes Croft area of the city. Her practice centres around making things out of what we term 'rubbish'.
This ongoing project is inspired and led by her slogan 'There Is No Such Thing As Rubbish Only Raw Material' and follows that nothing she consumes or creates will EVER BE THROWN AWAY. It will continue to function as a constantly evolving idea that will challenge the viewer to reconsider the pervasive culture of ‘throw-awayism’ as well as what counts as a raw material. The dream is to rid the world of rubbish. She seeks to make the very word and concept obsolete. Read Less
