Otto Steininger lives and works as a graphic designer, illustrator and
animator in New York City. His work has appeared in The New Yorker, The New
York Times, Business Week, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, the
BBC and many other publications throughout the United States, Canada, Europe
and Japan and has won numerous awards. He has also designed a couple of
watches for Swatch and a book on rubber. Other projects include a campaign
for Nike in Toronto and an animated TV spot for a Beethoven-Festival in
Portugal and Japan.
One of his more unusual projects was a two-month stay with the United
Nations’ mission in East Timor to design posters, murals and other graphics
as the country was gearing up to its first democratic elections.
Outside of work Otto invents cooking recipes and tries them out on his
friends. No fatalities so far. Read Less
