Storytelling is central to my creative work. My first job out of undergraduate school was in newspaper journalism. While the daily 1 a.m. deadlines and miniscule paycheck grew tiresome, those four years in the newsroom dramatically impacted my process. To me everything surrounding us has a story whether it is a cup off coffee, a cocktail dress or a ... cockatoo.
