Personal Statement
Through my work I attempt to evoke a visceral reaction, playing off against each other notions of struggle, fragility & logic. A formal game is played out in the process of making, using metamorphosis, chance and the recognition of physical and cerebral qualities inherent in materials. Thematically I am interested in universal ideas and have been using mortality as a departure point exploring myth, religion & science.
The work acts as a reflection of my psychology, judging my capabilities as well as my weaknesses.
