Happy Christmas from AKQA

Together with Bikini Film’s talented director, Jonty Toosey, the creatives from AKQA concocted a
masterplan. They needed to cast 49 microwaves, each tasked with playing a single note from the festive
ditty. And each had to have a distinct ping or ding. Help came from a catering company in Bristol who
offered a variety of industrial microwaves " each with a distinct sound. And so with the microwaves cast,
Pinewood studios booked and the camera loaded, we rolled up our sleeves and set about building the
wall. Then we rehearsed, rehearsed and rehearsed some more until we were confident we had a little
piece of Christmas magic in the can.
