Lucas Elliott
Character Design, Visual Development, and Illustration
Anchorage, AK, USAWelcome to the works of Alaskan Illustrator Lucas Elliott.
Ever since I was a kid, I have been obsessed with the art of storytelling. The use of the imagery to tell a story tends to have more of an effect on me than that of the actual wording. With my work, I try and convey that same idea through the use of action and of the line work. There can be a lot said with very little.
I began my path as an illustrator, my style has slowly progressed and evolved, and with that the tools have as well. I have a strong background in pen and ink as well as painting, but more recently have shifted over to digital illustration. It is amazing to see what can be done with some many tools at the ready.
Being in Alaska has given me a different look on the world and what comes and goes on a daily basis. I have always been intrigued by the mystery that is the tundra and just what lurks out there. But also with my geeky background (grew up on star wars, need I say more?) I have been fascinated with all that is Sci-Fi and Geekery.
I have many inspirations, mostly from children’s books and graphic novels, being one of my favorites is that of Where the Wild Things Are. I eventually hope to illustrate and publish a few of my own stories. Who knows, maybe you’ll see them on Etsy.
