Shout Out!
Ken Hui’s talent was recognised early, winning him a scholarship at the School of Design of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. And while studying for a BA in Visual Communication and Product Design, he won Gold and Diamond Awards at the IDT Innovative Entrepreneur Contest. He was also awarded the Hong Kong Young Design Talent Award in 2006 and received recognition as one of China’s top 10 young creatives in the Longxi Nova Competition 2007.
After graduating, Ken worked as Art Director for J.Walter Thompson, Ogilvy & Mather and DDB Worldwide in Hong Kong and his work received industry awards at the LongXia and KamFan Advertising Awards.
Ken then decided to head to the UK to take a masters degree in Advertising at Bucks New University, graduating with distinction in 2009.The MA gave Ken strategic planning ability to add to his already excellent creative and technical skills which range from graphic design and traditional advertising to digital communication.
During his time at Bucks, he took a part time role at Zag, the brand innovation arm of BBH London before moving on to work full time at Volume Group Ltd as Head of Digital Creative.
Ken’s varied career so far has given him experience working across a broad range of clients including Nike, Panadol, Coca-cola, Lucozade, Huggies, HK Mass Transit Railway, HK Disneyland, Dell and Manchester United FC.
Ken firmly believes that thinking skills and conceptual ability in various design disciplines can raise the possibilities for creativity to communicate effectively. He’s now keen to move on to a role as an integrated creative where his broad range of abilities will be fully utilised.
