Transparencies, layering of elements, geometric shapes, and textures are obvious structures you will find in my work. I work with these elements to create depth and movement. I gravitate towards patterns hence a lot of rhythm in my work, as I find inspiration from the patterning and rhythm coming from the arts and crafts movement. Simplicity is key, and my decisions on where to place elements are based upon what I view to be visually interesting and balanced. I want my designs to communicate meaningfully to my viewers, whilst I leave room for individual interpretation.

My design process is inspired by my sketching lifestyle. I believe sketching allows my imagination to expand and it allows my thoughts and ideas to come together. Mirko Illic once said, “I discovered that it’s much easier to think for 8 hours and work for 2, than the opposite.” For me, the sketching process allows me to really think. I sketch every single idea that comes to mind, giving me a place to start.

My work takes on an artistic stance, from my life experiences, my family, and my interests. It then arranges them in aesthetically pleasing and organized ways. My inspiration is derived mainly from nature, culture, and current trends. Using my artistic background and knowledge of colors I tend to use color palettes that have meaning and are aesthetically pleasing. I tend to use bright colors in my designs to grab viewers’ attention and to add some fun and boldness to my designs. However, I also use black and white to create sleek and classy looks.

Paul Rand and Mirko Illic are two designers that inspire me and as a hardworking individual it is my desire to one day become like them as I appreciate their work ethic and style. I also appreciate the arts and crafts movement that encompasses great craftsmanship, perfection, simplicity, texture, patterns, and overall quality design. Ultimately I hope to create work that has hierarchy, interest, and meaning through the use of my color palette, layering, transparencies, typography, and overall layout. I aspire to become a reliable designer for my clients. Read Less
I currently work for a marketing company called Your Marketing Works!, as the graphic designer. I also do free lance gigs for anyone who asks! I generally stick to print stuff, rather than web design.
