Shout Out!
open blackbook is an e-zine for international urban art. As this inspirational art form can be discovered on streets world-wide, it takes a closer look at urban culture and the creative minds behind it. Therefore, open blackbook provides a platform for artists and their creativity â€" regardless of how well-known the artists are. Particularly novel about open blackbook is its international scope, going beyond a limiting focus on certain geographical areas.
Contemporary art including Graffiti and street art have long been acknowledged to represent much more than mere scribble â€" what’s more, the magazine’s relevance is based on the idea of street art as an integral part of shaping urban space. Artists have discovered the city as an unlimited working space and an enormous area for expression, and we, as observers, can be part of it. In other words, artists make sure that the street turns into an arena of exhibitions.
The magazine is released bilingually in both English and German. It generally addresses anyone with an interest in urban art and culture and who likes to travel. As today’s world has increasingly created a strong desire to express oneself, contemporary artists have been using international streets to do exactly that. Their art has become omnipresent. Through its international ambition open blackbook will be attractive to anyone who wants to learn more about the artistic composition of urban living space from around the world.
