For the past 13 years I have managed diverse creative teams and projects both in house and as a consultant. I am adept at new marketing strategies utilizing social and interactive media, creating positive customer experiences and building brand loyalty. I have enjoyed great working relationships with companies such as Zany Brainy/FAO, Inc., Childcraft Education, Penguin Brands, American Laundromat Records, Intrawest and Winter Park Resort.

My most recent project, “Sing Me to Sleep: Indie Lullabies,” best illustrates the scope of my creative skills. As Co-Producer and Art Director on the project, my responsibilities have included:
- Ideation & Concept Presentation: Developed the album concept, researched record labels, pitched the idea and established a partnership with American Laundromat Records
- Album Production: Set tone of album, collaborating with label management in choosing talent, songs and genre
- Project Management: Managed contracts and production schedules with 23 artists; hired copywriters, web programmers, and promoters
- Branding: Visually branded the project for print and interactive media; created overall look and design standards for packaging, advertising, marketing collateral and website
- Social Media: Built social network, acquired followers and continually provide content on Facebook, Twitter and MySpace pages
- Event Planning: Planned and organized family-friendly “pajama party” events in London and New York to celebrate the CD’s release; booked venues, artists and promoters
- PR: Composed press releases, handled press inquiries, conducted interviews for print and digital radio
- Networking: Fostered relationships with artist managers, record labels, journalists, bloggers, sub-licensing partners, international distributors and other industry contacts

Philadelphia-based artist Kate Garchinsky is an award-winning art director, illustrator and producer who has specialized in all segments of children’s media, family and youth marketing for the past 13 years. In 2009 her first children’s book manuscript “Time to Fly”, received a letter of commendation from the Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators. In the same year, shoe care specialists at Penguin Brands hired her to help develop their new kids’ accessory line, Penguin Junior, currently available at Target. As a former artist and designer at FAO Schwarz and Zany Brainy, she designed private label lines of educational toys, and visually branded both stores’ “My Zany Music” series of children’s music. Most recently, Garchinsky conceptualized, co-produced and created all art for the award-winning children’s album, “Sing Me to Sleep: Indie Lullabies“, released on American Laundromat Records in May 2010. To celebrate and market the CD’s release, she organized a series of family-friendly events held in New York City and London, with footage featured in Word magazine. Garchinsky aspires to inspire and enrich young minds through quality entertainment, as did her hero, Jim Henson.
