Wellington, FL – March 1, 2013 – The world of Wellington is filled with many different facets of the equestrian community and beyond. This week at the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF), it will be Horses Healing Hearts Ambassador Karina Brez, 2012 Miss Florida USA, who will introduce the city of Wellington to a new gem, her high-end personal jewelry line. Stationed adjacent to the Hermès vendor booth at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center, the equestrians and spectators at WEF 8 will be the first to see Brez’s one-of-a-kind pieces.

Brez is a third-generation jeweler, learning the skills from her family and working in the industry, as well as combining her inherent love for design to create masterpieces.

“Each piece is different, similar to a snowflake or a fingerprint,” Brez explained. “No person will ever have the same piece. One ox-blood coral piece that I designed took three years to perfect.”

As a businesswoman, Brez worked closely alongside her father in their Mall at Wellington Green store, Alex Jewelry, for five years. Although the pieces they offered were a wild success, Brez’s personal line is something that has been in the works for many years, and she is finally releasing them to the world.

As a graduate from A.W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts, she uses her background in theater and visual arts to accent each piece of jewelry, utilizing diamonds to complement each luxurious gem. “After all, diamonds are a girl’s best friend,” Brez smiled.

In addition to her design and appraisal career working with her personal “Karina Brez” line and Palm Beach Gemologists, Brez is also the new host for AVC’s The Value Vault; Karina is not just another pretty face. Being well-traveled and well-versed in gemology, Karina shares information on trends and facts about the gems and minerals she so beautifully models.

Brez is one of the most educated and accomplished graduate gemologists of her age. In addition to her Graduate Gemologist Diploma, Karina seems a natural for a career in broadcasting as she set her eyes on a pageant goal, attained the title of Miss Florida USA 2012, and went on to compete in the Miss USA in Las Vegas later that same year. America’s Value Channel is proud to have Karina, and you can view The Value Vault Live Mondays 5-10pm/EST time on DirecTV 224, Dish 221 or stream it live on ShopAVC.com.

Her booth at the Winter Equestrian Festival will not only feature her personal line, but will also offer fine pieces from Rolex, Carerra Y Carerra, and rare pieces that are usually only found in museums. One of her highlight pieces includes a rare gold nugget that was mined and never touched. Nearly 98% of the gold that has been mined from Earth did not come in the form of a placer gold nugget, but rather was recovered by lode mining, which means it was blasted from the rock. The piece that will be on site at Brez’s booth was mined by hand, a rarity among the gem world. Many other rare pieces will also be available, but they are exclusive to the Winter Equestrian Festival.

“I aspire to one day be able to expand my boutique across the nation and the world, I want to use my knowledge as a graduate gemologist, designer and intrinsic scientific knowledge of gems to become a one-stop-shop,” Brez remarked. “The Winter Equestrian Festival is my first step at breaking out of the mold and pursuing my love for gems, design and accessories.”

Horses Healing Hearts congratulates Karina Brez on this next step in her life journey, and wishes her success as she launches her line during the eighth week of the Winter Equestrian Festival.

“Karina is such an independent, strong-willed woman, that there is nothing that can stand in her way,” Founder of Horses Healing Hearts Liz Olszewski said. “We wish her the best on her endeavor and look forward to her participation in the equestrian community as she shows her beautiful eye for design and jewelry.”
