What is the benchmark for creative thinking in business?

I'm interested to hear from colleagues just how far the creative industry can infiltrate the staid and almost benign attitude to creativity in big business. Why dont more creative people make it to the executive level in mainstream corporations. Why is is so in demand and yet so feared or branded risky?
