Since its founding in 1999, HUGE has developed a methodology and culture that combine the most relevant aspects of research, design and technology to grow client businesses. Clients include IKEA, JetBlue Airways, Adult Swim, Amnesty International, and Scholastic. The company is headquartered in New York with offices in Los Angeles and London.

User Experience Designers play a critical role at HUGE. The User Experience Designer’s mission is to deliver both power and pleasure to end users. This involves participating in key stages of research, product definition, and design.

The HUGE process http://www.hugeinc.com/process/ starts with development of the product’s conceptual model--understanding exactly who the users are and describing and ranking their goals and behaviors. Every project at HUGE includes substantial time for research and experimentation, phases that are conducted mainly by User Experience Designers.

Responsibilities:

  • Determine a product’s mandate, feature set, and business requirements
  • Participate in user testing or fieldwork
  • Develop user personas, scenarios of use, interaction models
  • Create wireframes and functional prototypes
  • Document feature behavior in loving, painstaking detail
  • Collaborate with HUGE teammates, HUGE clients, and third parties to ensure that your solutions survive the development process

Required:

  • Proven, hands-on ability to apply the methodologies of interaction design to software development.
  • 2+ years experience designing and documenting windows applications or large-scale web-based applications, involving detailed design schematics and business rules.
  • Proven ability to multi-task
  • Solid writing and visual communication skills
  • Familiarity with usability heuristics and relevant HCI literature
  • Knowledge of Visio or other tool for generating wireframes and behavior specifications
