Reporting to the Director of User Experience, the senior visual designer must be an independent, self-motivated, creative professional, capable of adapting quickly to a fast-paced environment. This is an active hands-on role, designing the core product user experience, refining the application UI and advancing the Vuze brand. Ultimately, we are looking for someone who lives to be creative, is an all around designer with proven experience in web and client UI design, has a passion for media and entertainment, commitment to achieving highest quality design and eager to pushing the boundaries of convergent media.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities will include:

• Producing practical and grounded design solutions that address complex business, marketing and user needs
• Rapidly creating superior designs and visual mock-ups
• Designing for a wide range of web and client initiatives
• Owning the visual design language and evolving the Vuze brand look and feel
• Developing dynamic prototypes, refined design screens, final graphic assets and lightweight specifications
• Working closely with the development team and reviewing UI implementation efforts
• Championing user-centered design process

EXPERIENCE

A strong candidate for this role will match many of these criteria:

• 6+ years of designing consumer focused rich media web and client application UI
• Must demonstrate outstanding design talent and creativity
• Have an understanding of a user-centered design process
• Proven ability to work independently as well as in cross-functional groups
• Strong communications and organizational skills with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated high proficiency in leading design tools such as Illustrator, Photoshop, and Flash with knowledge of ActionScripting, Javascript or DHTML a plus
• Have a solid understanding of and perspective on the online video space and social media trends and technologies
• -BA/MA in graphic design, HCI, human factors or equivalent design discipline
