In 1987, I completed a Bachelor of Applied Science degree majoring in Health Promotion from Curtin University. A dynamic multidisciplinary course that includes training in community development and planning, developing, implementating and evaluating of health promotion and community education projects and strategies such as mass media communication, skills training, counseling, social marketing, advocacy, lobbying and policy development.
In June 1987, I commenced work as a Health Promotion and Community Development Officer with the WA Health Department responsible for developing local programs as part of ground breaking mass media campaigns such as Quit. This included 3 ½ years in the high profile senior role as Health Promotion Officer for the S-W Region.
In 1991 I was approached by the National Heart Foundation to co-ordinate the marketing of heart health programs.16 months later I left to branch out of the health industry and undertake a number of special projects including Marketing Manager of the Fremantle Arts Centre, Marriage Guidance WA, Perth International Writers Festival and the Festival of Perth, eventually opening my own public relations and media consultancy.
In 1996 I commenced work in project marketing and off-the-plan sales providing the ideal transition into the property industry and to utilize my skills in strategic planning and marketing. During the past 13 years I have enjoyed a highly successful and rewarding sales career. Central to this long-term success has been my dedication to providing a high quality service and delivering on promises, my high level communication and negotiation skills and my ability to form strong relationships with a diverse range of customers, clients and key personnel.
I have proven to be able to adapt and apply my skills and experience beyond the health arena to a diverse range of disciplines including social and community services, media, arts and entertainment and the property industry. Read Less
