Three phrases quoted by my undergrad professors have had a strong impact on my understanding of design:
1.Design should be "engaging, appropriate, and memorable."
2. "KISS: Keep it simple, stupid."
3. "Craft an experience."
I feel blessed to be able to design for a living. I love the challenge of creating: the process of determining what is needed, considering how it will be interpreted, using my imagination and intuition, and connecting ideas. I also enjoy the challenge of improving in my skills. I pursue growth by regularly looking at design books and magazines, viewing others' portfolios, and getting feedback from other designers.
