I am currently working towards a degree in Online Journalism within the E.W Scripps College of Communication.
My goal is to become a multimedia journalist that has the power to impact the lives of many through my stories. I am heavily interested in investigative reporting and some foreign correspondence work. Through internships and working with campus publications I have gained some practical experience in the journalism field and am always seeking new ways to get my feet wet in the digital information age of journalism.
I have been involved with the video production crew at WOUB, Thread Magazines PR team, Black Student Communication Caucus and INC as a reporter. In addition, for the past two years I have been interning with the Pikesville Chamber of Commerce in my hometown of Baltimore, Maryland as their Social Media and Community Outreach Intern. Projects that I have worked on include, taking and posting photographs of community events, managing company Facebook, twitter and Linked In accounts, writing news releases and exerpts for the 2012 Community Directory and helping to plan community events.
My technical skills that apply to my interest in journalism include operating a digital camera, shooting and uploading video to You Tube, recording live feeds on Ustream, BlogSpot, Word Press blogging. I also have experience with working on deadlines and composing news stories for print and online publications. Read Less
