Hauser, as known by his friends, graduated with a B.A. in visual media in Mexico City, with photographic studies in Madrid.
His thesis project, an old fashioned animated short about little Mozart, called Wolfie made offcial selection in several international film festivals such as Short Shorts, Guanajuato, Pantalla de Cristal, and the San Diego Film Festival.
While working as producer on an entertainment Tv channel, Hauser met film maker Michel Gondry when he and Pablo Ortiz were finalists on a stopmotion short contest for The Science of Sleep.
In 2007, Jorge and three more people from over the world were chosen among thousands to participate in an Animal Planet's reality Tv show called Unearthed. Filming for a month in South Africa, the show's objective was to search for the new hot wildlife documentary maker. During a gala dinner in 2007, Hauser's documentary was elected winner by an international jury. Pride Lost shows the last thoughts of an old lion that still remembers his glory days. A very dark internal monologue about death and Africa's betrayal to the king.
Pride Lost is still to be broadcasted worldwide on Animal Planet later this year.
Lately, Hauser and Santiago Salinas directed a music video for an indie-rock band called Voxx.
At the moment, Hauser is working as a freelance photographer, with parallel projects such as a Tv series called Momentos, a panda documentary requested by the Chinese Government, and a photo exhibition alongside plastic artist and painter Mike Uriegas.
Jorge just recieved an invitation by renowned art director Rubén Bross to participate as photographer in a big project of a book about disabled children, called El ABC de la Discapacidad.
