My conceit
Here is my diminutive mythology of androgyny and bears, weird haircuts and marks on the skin, thoughts and feelings materialised as clouds of words and symbols...
If I was attracted to conventional beauty myths i'd draw them. But I'm not, so I don't. My eyes see lines and I have to put down what I see. This compulsion is my therapy. The act of drawing requires no complex apparatus. As it turns out paper, pencil and eraser is complicated enough. Composition is another matter entirely.
These images are drawn from the pages of magazines, from life on the streets of
London and remaindered googled images. It's all gridded up and filtered through my imagination, with the more complex compositions designed in photoshop.
At college drawing was discouraged. Thinking was encouraged. In the years since I've kept thinking but drawing has inevitably, thankfully, re-asserted itself. The more I reflect the more there is, hence my desire to extend the moment, to write down the surrounding thoughts, which form a narrative all by themselves. Over time these things coalesce on their own somehow.
Something beautiful and poignant can flow from a passing moment and stay with you forever. This is one of the most joyous things i know and what causes me to draw in the way I do.

The guy with a pipe and other stuff is illustrating a song about a man with a very unique stile of dressing, it is called "El vestir d'en Pascual", performed in catalan by spanish pop group Hidrogenesse, and the drawing was made for a fanzine where all the songs of their cd were illustrated.
Sorry for the delay and thank you :)
