All my work generally lives in the context of the philosophical nothing, along the border of Wittgenstein's "nicht sprechen kann". I like to work in open areas, such as coastlines, industrial towns, airports and grasslands, where things are bit more horizontal and a bit less contextualized. I focus on things that don't draw much attention yet aren't hidden from the eye either, are shot with a certain level of isolation and lots of negative space within the frame, post-processed to have low contrast and mild colors, and promote not an immediately impressive experience, but quiet meditative attentiveness. Gleb Simonov is a Russian poet and photographer, born in Moscow and currently living in New York. Literary work includes poetry (Russian and English), translations, critique and curating. Poems have been published in Russia, Germany and the United States, short-listed in several literary awards, including Debut Prize for emerging authors under 35 years old. Gleb collaborates with many literary organizations, curates an online contemporary art magazine and an online archive of hand-made poetry books.
