the first one is little bit stronger (very beautiful, I love sepia and it goes with the times described in the book) but is more conventional the second one is has very unusual approach, great job!! I like both of them

good question, i tried broken glass but it was too obvious
the water gives it a sad feel (tears) and also
the story takes place during a wet winter, so it seemed more
mysterious than broken glass, although that too looked interesting...

love the natural look of type treatment, but why wet lettering effect if the title says "broken"?
