Why We Whisper

I pulled out some serious kung-fu for this design, and the result has been both effective for the authors of  Why We Whisper, and inspiring for the design community. I couldn't be more excited about the delivery of this site design, I hope you enjoy viewing it half as much as I enjoyed creating it.

The Design Story

At the first meeting about Why We Whisper I got a taste of the challenge in front of me. I do like me a good challenge. Both Sen. Demint and Dr. Woodard were unhappy with what the publisher had produced for the book cover. They had big hoppes that the website design would  be able to redeem the book's promotion, elegantly present their politics, and heartily sell their book.

I set to working with Cogent to understand the brand needs for the book, the overall promotion, and learn what each party felt was lacking in the current presentation. I had my own ideas right off the bat on this project, but I always want to get as much solid information from my partners and my clients as I can before really diving into the design.

As usual, that philosophy really paid off. As in other projects, having a clear picture of how best to design for the political right, and the socially conservative nature of this campaign allowed me to create a more lasting product that truly represents a sustainable presence for the Why We Whisper book and Sen. Demint and Dr. Woodard.
