The Western Bulldogs was a struggling AFL football team. Although they had a large passionate fan base, these fans where not becoming payed members. As a result the team was financially struggling and in danger of merging or going out of business altogether.

The idea is to convince fans that their beloved team has gone out of business due to lack of support.

Ambient: MOCK housing planing permit erected at the Whitten oval. (Home to the Western Bulldogs Football team.)

When angered fans call the complaint line they hear this recorded message.

‘Hi. This is Campell Rose, president of the Western Bulldogs Football Club. If you’ve rung this number, you obviously care about the club and don’t want to see our home grounds get torn-down to make way for a shopping centre.

Well, you’ll be pleased to know that the Whitten Oval isn’t about to be torn down- not yet anyway. But let me tell you, the Dogs are in trouble. You see, we just don’t have enough member support to guarantee the future of our players, our website, or even the Whitten oval.

Put simply- the Dogs need your help and they need it now. Do your part by becoming a member, or say good bye to your team.’

To support the ambient campaign the bulldogs site was replaced with a tacky furniture bazaar, when fans clicked the Bulldogs logo at the bottom of the page they were re-directed to the above speech and a form inviting them to become members.
