WeThePeople: NIKE

Piece was created for Nike for the 2008 U.S. Olympic team's uniforms for the games in Beijing. The project took a turn, as Nike recreated the work internally to created a more graphic approach to the design, and simplify it's story. The reworks ended up only on the U.S. Olympic basketball team's jerseys, and even though the project went the way it did, we were still very proud of our involvement, and the end result. The piece has turned into many splinter projects, and to this day, we are still working with Nike to utilize the art for other projects that will see some coverage in the near future.
As for the brief, we were tasked to create a "tattoo" influenced design, and were told only to create something that might represent the cultural fabric that makes America what it is, and how those fabrics work in unison, as a team............the great melting pot........inked.
