In 2006, I was contracted by Catalyst Publications to design and layout their book "Waking Up the West Coast". This was my first time laying out a book and it went very smoothly. The end product was well received and the client was very happy. Here's a description of the book from the Catalyst Publications website:
"Waking Up the West Coast is a visually-compelling eco-friendly book that celebrates the insight and wisdom of 118 leading holistic health practitioners, sustainability experts, social entrepreneurs, educators, artists and advocates based in British Columbia, Canada."
The primary applications used in the design, layout, and prepress for the book were Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. While I was the one that handled the majority of heavy lifting on this project, I'd also like to credit Vancouver's Cowie and Fox Creative for helping with the initial design comps. To learn more about the book, please visit the Catalyst Publications website at http://catalystpublications.com
