From: Annekei's Portfolio
My second album "Tsuki" ("moon" in Japanese) was released in June 2007. I wrote the title song inspired from the full moonlit landscape in Hakone (a breathtaking area south of Tokyo, overlooked by Mount Fuji, famous for its hot springs, haunting mountains, suzuki fields and the stunning "Lake Ashi"). Besides from including songs from my life in New York and my visions as a writer, this album contains a huge dedication to the Japanese culture and people, as I've experienced them working and promoting my first album "Annekei". The song "Arigatou Gozaimasu" ("Thank You") underlines my deep gratitude for the loyal support of my new Japanese audience. "Towani" ("Till the end"), the 3rd song with a Japanese title, is a grand love ballad that became the second single, and has been used for several engagement- and wedding ceremonies throughout the country. I promoted "Tsuki" on 2 different tours in Japan last year (2007). A full band Blue Note tour in June in connection with the release, and an unforgettable acoustic tour in the fall with my close partner and guitarist, Takashi Masuzaki. The songs from "Tsuki" were presented in 12 cities, all the way from Sapporo in the North to Fukuoka in the bottom of the main island. All songs on the album are originals, and it's available on iTunes JP and as import.
