This was one of those instances where the magazine art director insisted that we incorporate a ridiculous amount of completed unrelated fashion product (the reason: to keep all of the advertisers happy). I find it incredibly frustrating when you get this kind of brief because you can't do anything with a strong visual theme, and because it's like shooting advertising with a crappy budget. Coming up with a decent spread is almost impossible, which defeats the purpose of shooting low paid editorial in the first place.

For this story I came up with a simple narrative the night before the shoot that I hoped would unify  the series, despite all the random fashion styles. I'm reasonably pleased with how it turned out.
At least it has a bit of humour.

in those times when you have so much limitations es when you really see creativity used at its most. I'm glad you came up with this wonderful, powerful yet simple idea.
