'Inspired by...' is an annual competition held by the Victoria & Albert Museum, London.
The brief, to produce an original piece of artwork taking inspiration from an existing exhibition at the Victoria & Albert Museum or Museum of Childhood.
I based my contribution, a smooth-edged jigsaw puzzle, on Grinling Gibbons' wood carving, The Stoning of St. Stephen. Using pen and ink and brush pens for colour I illustrated my interpretation of Gibbons piece across the outer surface of the balsa wood box and individual puzzle pieces.
When completed the puzzle pieces made up a vignette - 'The Egging of Stephen Street'. When disassembled the pieces fit snugly back inside the slide-top box.
My contribution was rewarded with a month long exhibition alongside fellow competition winners at the Victoria & Albert Museum.
